I know many of you, both participants and event organizers, are thinking about COVID-19 and how it will affect your event. Many events we provide ticketing for have already cancelled, and many are waiting it out to decide what the best course of action is. One thing that is undeniable, is that this will affect events this year.
We work with events on an individual basis to try to custom tailor a solution for each event. With our platform money from ticket sales go directly to the event organizers account. BurnerTickets.com does not hold any money back for an event. We have always had a no-refund policy, with some minor exceptions. Refunds can become an absolute headache for our small-beloved events, especially since we allow ticket transfers. Payment processors only have the ability to refund to the original purchaser. For this reason, most events are choosing (and we are advising) that in the event of a cancellation, event tickets from this year are valid either for a later event, or for the same event the following year. The final decision will be made by the event organizers of each individual event, so if you have a question about a specific event, you’ll want to contact the event organizers themselves.
In the coming days, I will try to update a list of events who are going to follow this model.
